Just DROS'ed one.
Grabbed one w/ thumb safety. On the one w/o the thumb safety, there's a cutout on the frame for it and is covered. That kinda bugged me. Figure I don't have to use it if I don't want to.Last edited by code33; 05-01-2007, 9:56 PM.Disclaimer:

newb question. mag dissconnect , wont let the hammer drop if theres no mag in it? like on a p22?Originally posted by jumbopandaAre we talking taking the tip off every time or just hitting it somewhere along the shaft? The latter is not that impressive. Not saying it's easy, but I'm sure many people could do it. I could probably do it myself at least 50% of the time.Comment

Just so everyone knows, the M&P 45 must have a magazine disconnect, no matter the color or if it has a thumb safety. Thus saith the "Roster," so I wouldn't go bragging about DROSing a non-CA legal handgun if I were you, unless you want to get your FFL in trouble.Comment

OK, I did some more research: the sku #s for at least two CA-legal M&P 45 pistols are: 307406 (thumb safety) and 307606 (no thumb safety).Last edited by kantstudien; 05-03-2007, 5:43 AM.Comment

I received one in store the other day. I was called by wholesaler today not to sell it. All of the first ones shipped don't have the magazine disconnect. the ones shipped to calif for testing had the disconnect and these are the only ones legal in Ca.
It looks like we will have return them to wholesaler. It sure feels good in the hand though.Comment

Too bad they can't just send out a new sear assembly. Last time I checked, Brownells had the sear assemblies (at least for 9mm) that you could just drop in for about $30.I received one in store the other day. Any updates on when the M&P45 will be available in California? All I could get out of S&W Customer Service was "soon".
BTW, the SKU #s I got from S&W are:
109006 - Mag Safety, Thumb Safety
109206 - Mag Safety
The SKU #s listed earlier in this thread, 307406 and 307606 are LE only SKU #s.- JamesComment

It is sitting at the FFL right now. I pick it up on Wed. I will get the SKU then. I bought it from a small FFL. He had one of the first in the state about a month ago. "that is the one I shot" However that one did not have the mag disconect. It did have the ambi safety.
Mine has no ambi safety but does have mag disc.
I mentioned above I saw one at On Target. I might have mistaken. I did not handle it. But did take a close look through the case. It might have been a 40 because another member here called and was told they have not received one yet.
Oh of course pictures on Wed.Comment
