    I suppose you're right. I don't really know much about that, but for the local range shooters like myself... whatever your fancy is... . 16 years with a lot of my guns, they still work!

      I clean with either Breakfree CLP or RemOil Wipes. Then, on rails I use Grease (Jardine's stuff). I don't think there is anything magical about what I use. I think the majority of them will work just fine. Most people will never shoot enough rounds through a firearm to see a difference by various lubrication choices. My guess is that you will likely need to be in the 100,000 round range before you would start to notice a difference but that is just an educated guess.

        Miltec is ok. It's a decent lube; however, you really need to be on top of your maintenance, because it's a lube only. Does not protect from corrosion at all.

        If you can spare the time to clean and oil when storing, and then militec1 before shooting, it could be good. But if you only leave Militec1 on and don't oil at all, you're gun'll be pitted pretty soon.
