Help me decide how to spend $2000!

So I've got about $2000 extra kicking around and I think it's about time for a new gun. Lately I've been kicking around the idea of getting another FN five-seven, I had one when I used to be an LEO, however I sold it because I didn't reload at the time and the ammo was expensive. I started reloading after I sold it so I imagine I could get the ammo cost down now. I also still have three 20 round mags for it since I sold it to a non-LEO who couldn't have them so the issue of not having full mags for it isn't a problem for me.

There are other two options I was also thinking about. The first is getting a larger caliber rifle since the biggest one I currently own is a 30-30 and I'd eventually like to have something along the lines of a 300 Win Mag or 300 Remington Ultra Mag. The second was to buy reloading equipment for the couple of calibers for which I don't currently reload as well as some stuff like a chronograph, a quality rifle rest and a large amount of reloading components since we won't be able to mail order ammo early next year.

Anyway, just thought I could use some outside perspective since I honestly can't make up my mind. Thanks.

Oh, one more thing, I do have a CCW but can only list 3 handguns on it. Currently I have my S&W 2" .38, my HK USP Compact .40 and a Kimber Ultra Raptor II. If I bought another handgun and wanted to carry it I'd have to drop one of those from my CCW. Thoughts or suggestions?

Oh man, nice problem to have. I have a list of three guns that I want should I come into some money. If only. I would buy the gun and the reloading equipment. On the other hand, I love buying basic rifles and then tooling around with them to make them just a little better. There is nothing like free floating a barrel, glass bedding, and smoothing out the trigger on a rifle all by yourself.

But a Remington 700 in either of those two high-powered calibers and a good set of reloading equipment + supplies, you can get for about 2 grand. Maybe 2 and some change.

a nice remington in 300 win mag, dies and components for it will keep you busy for a while.

I have a Bushmaster XM-15 with a 16" barrel, ACOG, surefire vertical grip and light, etc as well as plenty of 30 rounders. I bought the rifle and mags and registered it when I was an LEO so I'm set in that department. I also have plenty of shotguns, both for defense and for waterfowl. My regular deer rifle is a Remington 700 in 7mm-08 and with my handloads I'm comfortable to 400 yards with it. Also have a couple of .22 rifles and a .22 pistol. The reason I was thinking about another five-seven was that I'd hate to not replace it when I have a chance and then regret it later on if it got banned or taken off the roster. I also have a thing for somewhat unusual guns, so things like the five-seven appeal to me. Sounds like people here are recommending getting a larger rifle though, so maybe I'll start looking. Keep the suggestions coming!

A fabulous weapon that will gain value. OR get a bullpup PS 90. Since you reload you can save big $.

Do you have any armor? Buy a concealable IIIA bullet-resistant vest for 400-550 dollars. Spend the rest however you like, although I would probably buy more defensive purpose factory ammo, ESP. handgun ammo (JHP's, SP, etc).

Also, since you own Five Seven hi-caps AND you have potential to reload for it, down the line I would get one.

I have 2 1911's, a Kimber Ultra Raptor II and a very old 1911 which is a family heirloom. The two areas I'm lacking in are the large caliber rifle and revolvers. I much an autoloader for ease of reloading I do like my S&W .38 for carrying in a pocket when it's too hot to wear anything that will cover a holster.

OceanBob, out of curiosity, why do you think the five-seven will increase in value?

I do have a level IIIA soft vest which I had fitted and made for me while an LEO, as well as a plate carrier with plates and a MICH helmet, although I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to be needed. Nice to have though...
