Bryco/Hi point firearms are ugly inside also. They're fine for maybe 1000 rounds if you're lucky, then they're disposable. I had a Davis .380 about 18 years ago which had the slide crack after about 500 rounds.
It's a poor man's buy it, shoot it to see if it works, put it away gun.

come on now, almost feeling like leaving the range because someone pulled a hipoint out next to you? i hope you're being sarcastic.

it was the first handgun i bought at the ripe age of 21. being in college, i couldn't afford a whole lot more. and yes, it is quite aesthetically ugly. but, after getting the finnicky magazines figured out, i've never had problems with it, and it shoots where i point. it's gone through 1000s of rounds, and i've never done as much as run a bore snake through it every 500 rds or so. i always figured it would be a toy that i'd beat to death, but it's not showing any signs of stopping yet.

I just bought a used 9mm Hi-point C9 consignment gun a few days ago. I can't DROS it until next month though, but the price was right.

I've heard / read raving reports from people who own one, and nothing but negativity from people that have never handled one. OK, they're not pretty, but they work, and are accurate. I guess they're the Glocks of budget guns or so-called "junk guns".

Hi-point also honor their lifetime guarantee and have very good costumer service, and will repair any problems without fuss. I've heard that they often send the gun back with a bonus magazine after repair for the inconvenience. One gun shop owner I spoke to, says the return rate with a problem of the Hi-points are extremely low, much lower than guns costing 3 or 4 times the price of the Hi-point. If things go wrong with it, I'll keep sending it back for repair, for free!

The reason I bought one? My wife doesn't like / won't shoot my 1911 or my CZ52 in 7.62x25mm, so I'm hoping the Hi-point will be a pistol she would feel more comfortable and more apt to shooting at the range, or maybe keep within easy reach of the bedstand, when I am out of town. On the other hand, I don't want to spend $300-400 on a gun, to find out she doesn't like the feel of a 9mm. The rest of the time it'll be my plinker gun. .45ACP is too expensive for plinking with.

My vote for the ugliest gun goes to the Steyr SPP (Special Purpose Pistol).
