Well, some of the things I said were opinions and some were fact.
I tested one of the very first prototypes of the X5 (and X6) and I have shot several thousand rounds with my friends X5s. I have seen my friends X5s (and others) at the 40-50 matches / year I shoot, so I think I'm qualified to say that the problems with triggers, malfunctions and ejectors I've seen are a bit more than opionions.
Sure, there are people that will swear by their X5s, both those that have had problems and those that didnt. Bottom line, if you like the gun and you get one that's working, good for you, but I'll probably never buy one.
I'm just seeing the same excitement in the US as we saw when it was introduced in Europe a couple of years ago, but it might be that SIG Sauer has worked out some of the issues.
And yes, Ive seen those mag base plates (or third party ones) somewhere, but I cant remember where. I'll see if I can find it.
