    Thinking about a 6 shooter!

I want either the Ruger Blackhawk or Vaquero.Preferably in .357 if it's capable of shooting .3 special.Any thoughts on these? Opinions?

fyi- all .357 magnum revolvers can operate on .38 spl. it is the same cartridge, however due to the higher pressures involved with the .357 mag when it was developed, they merely made the cartridge too long to fit in the older .38's for fear they would explode. or some such thing...

i always wanted a vaquero, something about a single action revolver is just.. well, awesome.

like my vaquero in 45 colt, and love my mdl 28 in .357 (best shooter i've got)
That may be a CG first!

If you do mostly target shooting go with the BH, adjustable sights. If you want to play cowboy get the V. Either way you're getting a great revolver. The 357 is a ideal gun, shoot cheap 38 spl for target and go hunt with the mag.

Probably about 4 - 4.5 bills give and take a little for condition and your WANT factor.

I've had a Blackhawk for over 20 years now. Great revolver. Very accurate in the right hands. I have taken some blacktails and hogs with it over the years.

it may not cycle the .38, but that is a function of the geometry of the action of the rifle. not a problem with the two being incompatible. the shorter cartridge probably just doesnt hit the right place at the right time inside the guts of that lever gun to get it into the chamber. but yes, youll be just fine with a revolver. good luck with the hunt!

My Marlin 1894C eats both 38 and 357. Get tha BlackHawk. Toughest revolver there is. It'll take any heavy load 357mag ever created.
