    hi capacity sub cmpacts

While on the toilet and reading NRA's rifleman magazine, I saw this ad for an XD subcompact pistol that holds 16 rnds (I think I remember that amount) of 9mm in a flush-fit mag. Wow.

(I had to put on the toilet and also I had just gotten mail and was going thru them. Seriously, who reads Rifleman otherwise It's almost all ads... reminds me of Computer shopper.)

Imagine 16rnds of 9mm goodness in a subcompact. Almost makes me want to buy my first gun in like 5 years... then I remembered I'm in CA

For the record, its 13+1 in a flush fit mag, maybe someday we can be free....again.

I managed to pick up a 13+1 ultracompact before the magazine ban. Unfortunately I didn't really think about future implications, and only picked up a .380 compact. I wish that I had looked at some of the compact 9mms.

I'm glad that I grabbed a 92FS pre-ban. 19+1 with the extended mag is nice capacity, but hardly compact.

I also look forward to the day when we as Kalifornians can purchase standard capacity magazines instead of the low caps.

glock 26 with g18 mags. although not flush fitting, you'd get 33+1! that is, if you already legally acquired 33rd magazines.

a G27 with +1 grip extensions and pull off 10+1 in 40SW, XD40SC right now does not have the option of +1 extensions, so it is 9+1

If Pearce comes out with some +1 or +2 extensions for the XD, your could get 14+1 or 15+1 in a flush fitting 9mm, that would be pretty amazing.

PT-111 9mm is 12+1 in free state capacity and in a fairly slim grip profile too.

I thought it was 13 in the sub XD-9? I might be wrong though. It's good either way. I'm satisfied already with the Glock 26 holding 10+1 in the flush mag, but 13+1 just adds that much more firepower in your hands if you're facing three or four assailants.

I read Rifleman when I'm not on the toilet.

Don't really see the point in the XD subcompact really. The reason you get a subcompact is because it is easier to conceal. But the height of the gun is 4.75 inches. Height is one of the biggest factors in a gun being concealable. At that point, you are only a quarter inch from a G19 or even the XD compact in .45 ACP.

You're right. Some how I got 16rnds into my head (thier extended mag cap in the ad). Still 13rnds flush is still pretty amazing..

I only saw the pic in the ad, and looks like the grip is the normal subcompact length (i.e. where your pinky has nothing to hold on to). I've never seen an XD 9mm subcompact in person.

True, but most of us in CA can't get a CCW anyway so it conceals just fine in the "locked container." .
