Question for springfield professional 1911

Hi,
I looked up in gun broker I saw one dealer want to sell the springfield professional 1911. However, I see on its slide is "operator" and it also has the certificate from custom shop. I am confusing if this is a real professional. Can some one help to shed the light for me? Here's the link:

Yes...its a Professional. The Pros with a light rail have an "operator" on one side of the slide. As a matter of fact...all springfield frames with a light rail are termed "operator."

But on the other side of the frame is the "Professional" marking. However, the extended barrel, now that I have not seen before on a Professional.

Maybe some with more knowledge than me can give some input. I just started looking at 1911

My railed Pro has "Operator" stamped on it as well.

I don't think it has an extended barrel, the slide is just not in battery.

However, the extended barrel, now that I have not seen before on a Professional.

Maybe some with more knowledge than me can give some input. I just started looking at 1911

it did look extended at first glance...but if you look at the chamber, you'll see the chamber flag sticking out which shows that it is out of battery

That threw me for a loop the first time as well. As others have stated: regular dust cover and it says "Professional"; light rail and it says "Operator" though it is far from the same thing as a SA Operator -- though I bet it helps sales to those with wishful thinking.

Get it. Currently there is a 12-16 month wait on these. You don't see them come-up for sale, even on GB very often. And like others have mentioned, this one is the real deal.

If you want to wait 1 year plus for one from the custom shop be prepared to pay about $1,000 more.

IMO, Yes it is. I saw one selling at Turner's for $2900 + tax/DROS.

Besides, this is the kind of gun that is really hard to say is "too expensive" since you are getting so much--quality, rarity--so the price is a bit subjective. Even at $3000 after tax and DROS a Turner's, I'm willing to bet someone wil buy it soon.

Thanks for your infor. I called Ade gun shop. Steve quoted me less than $2500.00 for 3 to 9 months waiting. However, after tax and DROS it will be over $2500.00

Get it straight from the horse's mouth...

Contact Deb in the Custom Shop, she will say that the wait is easily 11 months with a 50% deposit.

Also, a little secret, the Custom Shop will give a discount to military and LEO, this includes all their Professional models.

Given the current wait I think it is a great deal. You'll be getting more gun for the money (in the high-end) than just about anywhere else. Exceeded my expectations -- which were high.
