    My first gun ever!

I've always wanted to own one and this Thursday I picked up my H&K USP 9mm with Trijicon night sights! So anxious for range time (next Saturday)!

Damn, its a beauty!! Waiting til saturday to shoot will probably be just as hard as the 10 day waiting period, I know it would be for me.

    And welcome to the boards!
    Blessed are the peacemakers

Yup....I wanted to go tomorrow, but the wife want's to go do something with the family. hehe....I figure I'd just be patient but yeah its hard. I've got a father's day gift....the uplula mag loader....so I guess that'll make the wait a little better. Already have 200 rounds ready to put down and I didn't buy extra mags (not yet at least). The Uplula should help a bit (I don't have 15+ mags like some of you...lol).

And thanks for the welcome....been lurking up until now.

I've been to the range once before. I have a buddy I work with who is an ex-marine who will be with me on Saturday showing me everything he knows.

Welcome! FYI: Most marines use their M4/M16s, unless he's an officer and issued a pistola.

I'd take a class, just to prevent any bad habits.

+1 One of my friend who is a marine was a terrible shot. He eventually fixed his problem, and last I heard he qualified as Expert. A lot of ranges offer basic marksmanship training or know someone who does. It will be one of the best investments you can have in shooting sport.

Thanks for the tips guys. I am considering making this more of a sport so will definitely consider taking some training. All "whipped" jokes aside....the wifey gave me the thumbs up on getting this for my birthday since I promised I'd make use of it (frequent trips to the range, etc).

She (my USP) is definitely not a "safe queen".
