So clue me in. Why is it important or even matter that a glock will shoot underwater? Are members here carrying while in the pool or in the tub?

The Glock company recommends that only the Glock 17 be used to shoot underwater, and even then, only with the special "maritime spring cups" installed on the gun first. However, there are many people who apparently installed the said spring cups on other models of 9mm Glocks (such as 19 and 26) and shot those underwater as well (lots of youtube videos on this).
Also, to successfully shoot underwater with a glock, you have to only shoot FMJ's out of it, other rounds like JHP's will clog and damage the barrel.
That being said, I think a 9mm Glock would be the ultimate self-defense handgun. It can protect you on land, or underwater (like when you're scuba diving).
Who says you can't be armed when you're 50 ft below the surface of the ocean?!In Glock We Trust.

Most stainless steels can withstand short periods of saltwater immersion. However, once you bring it up on dry land and air mixes with the chlorides in saltwater, corrosion can happen very quickly.
So if you ever do take a gun into the ocean, make sure to completely strip it and clean it afterward.
