think he meant he bought the complete pistol with bb and 0 round if you are interested in a ar pistol do your research and keep an eye out for a group buy /build party that is the route i went with due to me not be good with metal it was easy and all the people there are helpful ,,well hope that helps ill be finishing my pistol in a week : ) cant wait
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. I just ordered the PWS. Seems it might be a bit simpler since i will be swapping the buffer tube with a plug when i install the .22 conversion for indoor ranges.

If that doesn't work out i'll be buying the GSE.

Old thread, but I'll put my $.02 in since I've recently built a couple of .223/5.56 AR pistols from an 80% lower.

I've noticed that if I used the 'extra power' Wolff buffer spring and a H2 buffer, the .223 or 5.56 rounds cycle much cleaner (smoother and ejects better) on the pistol when I'm using a standard length buffer. I get the same results when running the same setup on my AR rifle.

I haven't personally tried the GSE buffer, but my friend did. He had mixed opinions about it and I personally didn't want to waste the money and risk it. Plus, I just personally like the look and feel of the longer 'standard' buffer tube with foam pad, better than the short & stubby GSE buffer.

My two cents. Proper operation of the AR pistol is not purely dependent on the buffer assembly. I had all kinds of trouble getting mine to run at first. Stove piping, FTE, etc. I couldn't make it through a 10rd mag without a jam of some sort. I tried various springs, buffer weights, etc. It ended up being a gas port problem. I don't remember specific measurements, but I ended up over drilling the gas port in the barrel by just a few thousandths. Well, it made all the difference in the world and my pistol now runs like a champ!

I run the Phase 5 buffer assembly, works flawless, short length, foam installed, looks good. Two thumbs up!

I had problems with it being too short. Bolt wouldnt hold back. I looked in the tube to find the tube rubbed silver from the bolt hitting the back of the tube. I told them and I was ignored. Last Phase Five item Ill buy.
Ive built a TON of guns so its not that I dont know what Im doing.

Sorry to hear that, I'll have to pull mine apart & check it out. First complaint I've heard about P5, they should have been more responsive to you.

Yeah it was a odd deal. I told them that I thought that they didnt account for the notch in the front. So maybe they fixed it now. A buddy at the time works there and I guess he didnt care for the feed back because I havent heard from him after I told them that.
Its been replaced and the gun works flawless now and thats they only thing I changed.
