Cant go wrong with the glock, can I ask what are you using it for? Theres allot of .40's out there so get the one that fits you and your needs best. My two cents is the CZ75 compact in .40.

+1... or sig and avoid the taurus if you can afford to. CZ is great, but of those 2 glock.

Get the Glock, you won't regret it. I have no experience with Taurus but I have never found any models of Taurus that I like. I have several Glocks though, and have never had any problems with any of them. I have a Glock 27 and 23 in .40 S&W which are 2 of my favorite guns. Totally reliable, accurate and simple to maintain. I shot a well used Glock 22 in a match once and it was a very accurate gun. Go with a Glock.

get taurus millenium. very compact. i have it in the .45 and i have a glock 22. i carry the taurus more. not for the caliber but for size. very concelable. good luck

I'd get a Sig P226 .40 I can't help but love them. (mine is 9mm though.)

As much of a Glock fan boy as I am, I still can't get myself to purchase a Glock in .40 cal. Now a Sig in .40 cal would be a whole different story. That's just my personal preference though, so good luck with whichever one you decide on.

if you got your caliber figured out already, i would say you got the hardest part done now its just going to the range and actually trying the diff guns to know how the ergonomic work with you, i wouldnt make a choice off anyones opinions on reliability, etc.

any of the guns spoken of will serve you well with minimal problems... though i cant personally speak for taurus... thats my 2cents

Glocks are good guns, but I like lots of others mo betta.

if you're looking to use it for HD, I'd recommend you mount a light to it, and the glocks in .40 have got a spotty reputation for functioning with lights attached (depends on the light, condition of the gun, weather, shoe size, phase of the moon etc... not always a problem)

I think the gen4 glocks are a bit stiffer and don't have this problem anymore, but they're not on the roster (yet, I think) so tough to find.

my recommendation for a first/do-all pistol is an HK P2000 LEM in your caliber of choice, and if you can't swing/don't like that, an XD is a fine alternative.

I just bought my first pistol recently, so all of my research is recent and fairly up to date.

the gun brand I was most often warned away from during my purchase quest was Taurus. I have no personal bad experience to relay, but I have lots of 2nd hand warnings. (and I don't particularly like what their pistols have to offer, aside from price which I try to not consider too strongly)
