Love my SR9. I got the Ghost Ultimate Trigger and it remedies the inconsistent/gritty trigger.

Thankfully I have a supportive wife. No need to lie about costs, in fact she is buying my mossberg for me on the 2nd. couple of weeks away

You might consider that Ruger is somewhat a victim of their own forthrightness. In the case of the SR9, there were zero reported problems or incidents "from the field", but their own stringent internal testing revealed a possible safety issue. They issued a very public notice of recall and dealt with the problem openly and honestly.

Contrast this with certain (cough, cough ... Austrian) manufacturers who have gone out of their way to carefully manage their image, while sweeping known issues under the table and quietly performing "upgrades" or "enhancements" ... all the while denying any actual design issue which might sully their carefully crafted marketing message of "perfection".

SR9 made my top 3 back when I was looking> I eventually chose something else, but I liked the SR9. I shot it very well.

I bought a SR9 in early 2009 and now have shot just over 4000 rounds through it, the only problem I had was the MAG. release got a little stiff so I took it apart cleaned it and greased it and haven't had a problem with it since. As for the trigger yes it was a little gritty at first but after some shooting and some polishing on the trigger bar it's now nice and smooth. It still has a heavy trigger pull but I prefer that because if I ever need to use it in a self defence situation I know I'm pulling the trigger on purpose not by accident. I to want a SR9c I can't understand why Ruger doesn't get them out here.If you haven't already you might want to check out the Ruger forum also http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB/ Redhemi

I say buy the ruger for the sole purpose of sending money to Arizona. I know I've been thinking about it.

I bought two, one silver one black. Great gun and it actually is something my wife and daughter can grip comfortably. No problems at all with both at about 400 rounds. very easy to disassemble and clean. Decent accuracy. It has my vote.

I love the feel of the SR9 but the trigger needs some work. I too heard that the SR9c trigger is completely redone and should be very sweet. I'm just glad that Rugers in general don't sell like hotcakes. That just keeps the prices low for us.
