I've never been a Glock fan, but longslides look cool on any gun.

That 1911 looks like it's going to be beautiful when it's done.

Yep, Dawsons are very nice, though I'd go with plain black rear. I like fiber in the front for speed but if you're going for precision long range all black sights might be best for you. And for precision, thin front blade and narrower rear notch (again I like wider notches for speed but narrower is more precise).

I went with a F/O rear because I can always cover the dots to make it look like plain black rear sight, but I can't make a plain black look like a F/O sight. My front sight is .100 wide vs. the .125 wide factory sight, and the rear notch is also narrower than the factory notch. I'm using it primarily for long range hunting, and with a wooded background, that front sight lights up like a christmas tree.

Very cool gun! I really want to build a long slide Glock 20 or 21! Thanks for weighing it, too. That's a good reference.

Small red dot sights like the Trijicon RMR sight. I've been reading good things about the pistol applications of tiny red dots and think a longslide 10mm would be an excellent platform for them.

But I wouldn't put one on that Damascus 1911, that'd be blasphemy

NIce job, on everything. Especially the goal, and having the patience to wait it out. Purtty pistol...congrats!

Never fired a 10MM, but have always liked the "stats" of it...

As mentioned previously, if I had the opportunity to have aquired 10's instead of my .45 collection, I would (probably) have done it.

Even if it is a Glock, there is just something intriguing about a long slide. Had a crush on them since I fired a long slide AMT way back in the day.

Well played..... congrats to the OP for his score and his perseverance.
