If it's got the finger grooves I would look for a ca. legal extended mag base. If it doesn't have finger grooves I would still get the base plate still but add a hogue rubber slip on with finger grooves.

    But that's me, YMMV.

What is it about the factory grip that you don't like?

Is it too slippery, is the texture uncomfortable, do you dislike the finger grooves, etc?

That would probably help someone in trying to recommend the best grips for you.

I like these Decal Grips because you get a good grip, but it does not increase the bulk of the handle. You can get them in either sand-paper like or rubber. I use the rubber, the sand-paper like material is skateboard tape.

I prefer the Pachmayr slip-on finger groove grips that are made for the sub-compact Glocks. The grip's finger groove is hollowed out and contours nicely along the finger grooves on the Glock's frame.

Hogue's slip-on finger groove grips are not hollowed out and create a hump that is too big for my liking.

hahah sucka.. You mocking my texturing technique?

I pretty much went crazy with the grip tape on my G34.. I built up the area between the finger grooves, backstrap, sides.. It's pretty much add what you need, as everyone has unique sized hands and grip..

There really is no "best" as its a preference type situation. You can use grip tape (aka skateboard tape), a pachmayr or hogue slip on, or stipple/dimple the grip area.. Some people even go so far as to re-contour the grip.. It's all subjective. I prefer the less "permanent" modifications as you may one day want to sell it or realize you really dont' like the modification after a few sessions..

I went with the extreme reduce&texture but with a moderate profile. The prodominant hump in the back strap that Glocks are known for was "sucked in" is the best way I can describe it. Plus I can get pretty high up on the tang which allows for better recoil management. The grip angle is more like the M&P, which I also had him texture too btw. I wanted all my guns to feel the same even if I switched from one to another. If you own a 3rd or 4th gen RTF2 and go with his texturing you will not be disappointed. The texture is like lava rock but not too rough, you can have him texture it to your liking fine, med or coarse.
