CZ 9mm - Sudden Accuracy Falloff

I took some friends to the range to shoot some guns and we all shot my CZ 75B SA 9mm, using Remington ammo. All was fine, but then everyone, including me, could not reliably keep 10 shots inside a dinner plate at 15 yards. I don't see anything amiss with the gun, but it did seem to start this rather suddenly. Some shots were where they should be, but others, we could not even find a hole, anywhere. I put it away, and will carefully inspect it later, but anything specific I should be looking for?

check your return spring, and barrel locking nut and groove.

for most simi auto pistol, the accuracy is directly dependent upon the alignment, fit of the barrel and its slide. i.e. if you have a tight fit alignment, the pistol will be accurate. also, check your sights. i have my sight came loose during shooting on one of my guns before.

also do you remember how far does your shell eject? if its more than 3 ft, then its time to replace the return spring. what could happen is that your barrel disengage too quickly before the bullet have exit barrel.

the firing control should not have anything to do with your accuracy based on what you are describing.

Check the crown also, might have nicked it. Crown is where the accuracy is at also.

I checked over the CZ, and the sights are tight, no nicked crown that I saw, but the lube was dryish inside the gun. Normally pretty religious about this, so not sure why it appeared dry. I will clean and try it again.

Try tapping the sights with something semi hard, sometimes its hard to tell they are loose.

check the crown for nicks or debris? are they consistantly going in one direction or just all over the place?

I am guessing all over the place, because we could not find some holes at all. This would mean at least a bullet going 15" off from the target, at a distance of 15 yards. There were three of us looking, including the shooters, and no one could find the holes that did not hit near the target center. Same for multiple shooters. All were able to do better earlier, so this is why I suspect the gun has acted up. After that, I put it away.

Loose sights and recent crown damage are where I'd look first.

if thats the case, i think your barrel is not in alignment with the slide. put a snap cap in the chamber and close the slide. see if the slide is fully close or if barrel will move. check the lock lug on your barrel and slide to make sure there is a positive mate. check the underside of the barrel and the take down lever cam to make sure its the deform.

if the sights is out loose, it means you will shoot off center to one place.

also post some picture of the internals.
