P-89 bought way back in early 90's. It had the Hi-cap 15 round magazine. The owner was given another mag at the time as a spare. The owner sold the original gun with a hi-cap mag but still has one mag left. Would it then be legal to use the mag in a newly purchased older P-89? He still has the mag from way back. The mag was given prior to the ban also.

REALLY?? How in the world is that ok if he no longer owns the original gun?
I guess if "The Law" did a search they would/could see that the person did own the original gun and clips prior to the ban! hmmm how does one find that in the law books just to be safe? The almost tossed the mag not wanting to get in trouble!Gal 5:6b - Press On!

If my AR mag that is pre-ban and "Hi-cap" or regular cap mags happen to fit a Kel-tec SU-16 rifle, then so be it. Just because it isn't the original rifle designed for it, and the Kel-tec doesn't have any evil features on it, you're good to go on using legally obtained magazines greater than ten rounds.Comment

WOW,,,I guess they will be glad they never thru the thing away!If my AR mag that is pre-ban and "Hi-cap" or regular cap mags happen to fit a Kel-tec SU-16 rifle, then so be it. ....What constitutes an illegal hi-cap mag then. Obtaining it after the ban?Gal 5:6b - Press On!

Correct, no purchasing, constructing, or importing of hi-cap mags after 2000 or pretty bracelets. (The burden of proof is on the cops though)Comment

Your friend could also hypothetically get a Ruger PC-9 (if he can find one) and use the mags in the carbine.Originally posted by bigbob76I'm in the process of de-humping all my Glocks.Comment

I have a Jericho 941 from 1990. I can sell the pistol, and keep the mags, then if I buy a EAA Witness, or CZ75, I can use my 15 round mags in that gun.
Of course, the point is moot in 2 months, because I will be able to purchase new full capacity mags, and even get a permit to carry.Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

I know it seems like it would be illegal and if you or I wrote the hi capacity magazine law it would be illegal but the fact of the matter the law was written by morons. The same morons that went after assault rifle by make and model number at first and then the manufacturers just changed the model number. They also went after saturday night specials without a definite description of what a saturday night special was. These people, they ain't smartREALLY??
