      Carry what is good for you. Practice often, be safe.

      As a note, I have carried the same Colt 1911 for 28+ years. The only issues I have ever had were related to either bad ammo (crappy reloads) or a crappy magazine (my fault for being cheap).

          get a non-1911 semi auto. never had problems with my modern semi's, XD, HK, Ruger, Beretta etc.

                  1911s allow me to put rounds downrange in a fairly accurate and quick manner without a lot of effort.

                    When revolvers fail, they fail big. But then again, some famous trainer(Hackthorn) said 1911 is the best CQB weapon and king of feedway stoppages.

                    Here is a video of a revolver falling apart.

                              No it is not. The shooter actually posted the photo of his gun on ar15.com after the incident, IIRC. It was sent back to S&W.
