That was one of the questions raised, and it seemed like(at least to my best recollection) it wasn't user error. This is the URL of the thread, but knowing that website it is in archives.

Could that guys barrell have blown apart due to a bullet being lodged in the barrell then firing another round?
Depends on the situation. For HD I'd reach for the .357 first and the 1911 closeby for a NYR (New York Reload, does this acronym exist yet?). For WROL/SHTF I'll take the 1911, faster FUS (follow up shots), faster reloads, the Nazi zombies will start having flashbacks and their heads will explode.Comment

Have an idea or invention? Need something designed and made? Click: HERE
✟ In the beginning was the 1911, and the 1911 was THE pistol, and it was good. And behold the Lord said, "Thou shalt not muck with my disciple John's design for it is good and it workith. For John made the 1911, and lo all of his weapons, from the designs which I, the Lord, gave him upon the mountain."✟Comment

The age old question that will never be answered to everyone's satisfaction.
Wheelguns can go south too - timing being the #1 problem in older examples, along with cracked forcing cones and worn hands.
If you want a wheelgun for defense and you are confident in the piece and your skills, go for it, but wheelguns aren't perfect either - no mechanical device is.The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.
