Desert Eagle is only called a Deagle by Half Life Counter Strike players, since that is how it is written when the game uses a compressed/shortened version of the name of the gun.

I call my Baby Eagle "the beagle" sometimes. It's just easier to use that when referring to the gun. However, I will add that I don't call the full-size Desert Eagle a "deagle".

I would love to see somebody at the range come up to the counter to rent a gun and yell out "Give me the Deagle!" and then look around to see the look on everyone's face near by.

In my experience (even with CoDuty...) they were always just called "DE"
