Its strange to me they put more focus into the P250 than the P2022. Then again, I'm not a big fan of double action only. I haven't shot one so I can't speak much of it

Well, Sig didn't exactly discontinue the 2022.. just that the 250 is their polymer baby here. They don't really market it here.. which is a shame cause its a great gun. There'll be plenty of supply of em though.. seeing how the French have a contract with this gun until... ofcourse, 2022.

That's what I was just reading. So if it's gonna be around till 2022, why do the dealers seem to think it's discontinued? Are they only going to be making it in 9mm now? Or is there just a lull in the supply of .40s? I'm hitting the google.

Yeah the P2022's seem to pop up on Buds every couple months or so. Buds had them for $438 in December-ish and it sold out. They came up again in Feb/Mar for $426 which is when I jumped in and bought a P2022 in 9mm. I only saw 9mm ones though, so finding a .40 might be tougher. Bear in mind that factory .40/.357 mags are only 15 bucks at CDNN, so keep that in mind when looking in the classifieds and comparing used prices to new prices. If you're certain you're going to get the P2022, might as well buy the mags now, those .40/.357 mags will also work for the 9mm P2022.

I was hunting for an SP2022 not that long ago, and was able to score a German-proofed .40 model from Top Gun Supply. They switched the mags for me without issue. The SP2022 is, imo, the unsung champion of the polymer pistols. Buy it, you'll like it.

Don't quote me on this but from what I have read on various forums, the Sig Pro 2022 is being discontinued in the US. While you will still be able to get some for the next year or so they will no longer be making new ones available here... I just picked up mine the other day. Brand new, but the manufacture date on the box says 2008. So they are definitely out there, and Sig will still have parts available through the end of the contract with the French, but they will become less available here in the US. Pick one up while you can!

No its DA/SA. You can get a DA only conversion though.

The 2022 has not been discontinued and the 250 is now legal in CA. I have 2 9mm compacts.

Also picked up a tactical short trigger for 10 bucks while I was there. I figure for 10 bucks it was worth checking it out.

yes they do work for 9mm, but be aware that they do hold more than 10 rounds of 9mm even though they are marked 10 rounds of .40/.357

Yeah, they hold 12 9mm rounds comfortably. Shhhh...

I bought 3 of them for use at any future Front Sight classes, while the 9mm mags are for the range here in CA.

Yea, I think over time .40 will be harder to come by. As far as I know.. the French police (along with most of the rest of the world), use 9mm. 9mm versions will probably still pop up in decent supply all around.

I agree that I don't get why Sig decided to focus more on the 250 here. I would have loved to see a 2022 in a more compact (vs the short-lived compact they released) or subcompact model. I think the modularity of the 250 is highly oversold. I don't see a huge reason for it unless you really are just limited to how many guns you can own.
