1911 problem...Feeding HELP!!

1. New recoil spring. (?)
2. Double check extractor fit, tension and shape.
3. Polish breech face.
4. Radius edge of firing pin hole in breech face.

This type of jam is not always barrel related.

I polished the feed ramp yesterday so its shiney. and yesterday had no failures...Granted I am almost 100% sure this wasn't my problem. I had a local 1911 pro look at it and he stated that I should remove the slide and put a case inside the back of the slide next to the extractor and see if there is any play...if no play or too much play it needs to be adjusted.

since you bought it second hand, change out the recoil spring with a Wolff. who knows how many rounds its been since the spring has been changed.

Before you send it back, make sure your extractor doesn't have any goobers in it, external extractors tend to pick up some carbon or burrs and preventing reliable feeding.

If you are using standard pressure .45 ACP 230 gr FMJ ammo and the pistol is malfunctioning with known quality magazines, then there is definitely a problem with the gun.

If you are not a gunsmith or know of a local good 1911 experienced gunsmith, then send it back to the manufacturer, Smith and Wesson.

FWIW, most problems related to malfunctions with a pistol are usually one of two things, factoring-out ammo related problems. A: magazine or B: extractor.

Looks like an extractor problem; the cartridge is almost into the chamber but the extractor won't allow the case rim to slip up and underneath the extractor claw. The extractor spring tension may be too high or there is a sharp or burred lower inside corner on the extractor.
