I was told that after a Glock breaks-in you can slap a new magazine in with the slide locked back and it will chamber a round with out hitting the slide release. Is this true or was this person having problems with there gun.I tried using the search so if this is a repost sorry.

I have seem it happen with rental Glock. Never happen with mine though. Another reason to practice safety trigger discipline.Taiwan born, Chinese descent, red white and freaking blue America citizen.
Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.Comment

That's is straight up Tactikool BS. It's probably just a "waved" issue (means, Glock notice the issue but it's not big enough to do anything about it).Taiwan born, Chinese descent, red white and freaking blue America citizen.

It doesn't have to be broken in to do that, I did it with one of mine the first time I took it out. When the slide is locked back, slam a full mag in and it will go into battery and slam it home, not gently push. No big deal and is normal according to the folks at Glocktalk. And like Oldnoob said above "trigger discipline," gotta have it.Comment

I was under the impression that it is one of the primary functions of the slide catch to be depressed and then release the slide and allow it to slam back into battery.RLTW

None of my Glocks have ever done this. As a matter of fact, the only pistol I own that does do it is my Baby Eagle. I don't really see it as a good or a bad thing. I just deal with it.Dom

I've seen any number of poly framed pistols do it; I wouldn't depend to be reliable in any circumstance. Sling shot it like it was designed. The slid stop is a "slide stop" not a "slide release"/Chris

Glocks are not designed to do that. If they do this its because the slide catch is warn down and or the slide. I'd recommend this be fixed on any pistol that does this. I've seen this happen on a few pistols other than Glocks too.
?#2, no the glock was not designed to release the slide using the catch which is why some people have the ?#1 issue. This causes wear in the slide and the catch and rounds them off. If your slide is dropping when you seat a new mag then its close to not catching when you fire off your last round in the mag.Comment

It never happened to me through all of my Glocks.
I seen that happened one time an XD at ASR. It was a cal .40.(\__/)
