Whoa this thread is OLD!
Yeah Kimber barrrels rust after touching them and not cleaning them off after. That was the sole reason I will not by a Kimber. I have had stainless steel guns and items before that didn't rust. The only stainless item I own that rust like a Kimber barrel are cheap kitchen knives after use.Last edited by mlevans66; 01-06-2013, 8:56 AM.The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!Comment

I don't know what to tell you Kimber bashers, I have two and a Les Baer as well, I'd say the Kimbers were actually more reliable than the Thunder Ranch Special was until I got past the first 500 rounds in it. Now I would put my life on the line with ANY of them, it'd be about which one was closest to me, that pretty much goes for any of my handguns, I have Sig's, an HK and a Glock, all of them are reliable / dependable and they have been shot enough to develop a high level of trust.
This rust thing is complete and total nonsense if you ask me.Comment

I had a stainless target II and it had a little bit of corrosion on the barrel from a fingerprint. I polished it off with Simichrome polish it worked great couldn't even tell after I was done. Im not Kimber bashing it is a sweet pistol. My buddy has it now and I still shoot better with it than I do with my Gold Cup.Comment
