    i bought a glock

well i did it, after shooting multiple guns, cal, brand etc.. i purchased my first handgun today. i went with the glock 17. it was a very tough choice but after running it through my head over and over and over...... i decided on the 17 over the XD. it took me 2 months to finally decide but i just love the feel of the glock and just enjoy shooting it. the hardest decision was 9 or 40. i just simply shoot the 9 better and so does my wife. and since this is not a primary HD weapon nor is it a service weapon, the 9 just makes more sense to me. i just love this sport and luckily my wife is really liking it to so i can see an xd in the future, lol. there were so many factors but im very happy with my choice and feel i made good decision. now for the wait, errr, 9 days and 18 or so hours. haha. thanks to all calguners out there, the info on this site really helped me out but in the end it just came down to what felt the best in my hand.

Welcome to the world of shooting without the encumbrance of extraneous levers, doo-hickeys, hammers, or annoying glares! Don't worry about 9mm for HD, it will do the job. Better a hit with 9 than a miss with 40.

nice. G17 was my first handgun too, put me thru the academy excellently i must say. wish i still had it. i just bought my XD 45 tac which i love, and i think more than my G17, but its hard to say as im in a whole new level of proficiency in markmanship. have fun with that piece.

The G17 is a fine choice, I'll probably be picking one up sometime in the near future.

I just bought a g17 for my first pistol also. It felt and shot great. Pickup for me is on the 14th, and I'm super excited!

Good pick. I don't own a Glock myself but I'd like too some day.

Same here - G17 was my first gun too. Great gun and easy to maintain.

thanks so much everyone, i cant wait to bring her home.

i shot the 19 multiple times including the 23 and my hands are very large so it was difficult to grip for me. on the other hand my wife shot the 19 very well. she also shoots the 17 well. at first she was low with her hand on it until she got used to it. if all goes well i might just have to convince her we need a 19 also, you know, for her, lol.

I sold a .45 to get a 23 for my wife and a 34 for me... couldn't be happier. Got the conversion barrel for the 23 as well so I only have to take 9mm to the range.
