+1 , My cz75 sp-01 is the best 9mm I personally fired, accurate, well balanced and fits my hand like a glove. :-)

I have glocks, xd, beretta, sig, walther, ruger, hk, and 1911s and my favorite one is te CZ75 sp-01.

GO buy 500 rounds of 9mm off the internet... So you get a fair price.

Then go down to your local shop where they rent guns. And have a Blast... Then you will know which gun fits YOU're needs.

Done... Oh and it will prob be a SIG.

Some ranges make you buy their ammo for their guns. Check into that first.

I was sure I wanted a P226. (I kinda still do.) Then I held one - it just didn't fit my hand well. The USP fit much better. The P2000 fit the best and that's what I bought.

That being said...if we get the new "E2" versions I will try again. I still like the idea of a P226.

One thing to remember - for about the price of a P22 (if you can find it) you can get the .22LR conversion kit. (One reason I really wanted to like the P226.) That way you can get cheap ammo and still get the muscle memory you need.

If you're not into polymer framed guns, a Sig P226R would be more than a fine choice. They are great shooters that are comfortable to shoot for long trips to the range and hundreds and hundreds of rounds at a time. Accurate and dependable. Triggers are really smooth for being an out-of-the-box duty ready pistol under $1k.

I run a CZ75 in .40 . It is my HD and range/competition gun. It's all steel and accurate out of the box. All of the other posts are right. Find the one that fits your hands best.
+1 vote for the XD also. That is probably my next one also.
