    HSC...

Is the HSC test multiple choice? I use to be able to flash my DD214 proving I'm ex-military and that was good enough to purchase a handgun, but not anymore so I have to get the HSC. How many questions total are there? And are most of the questions common sense?

Yes - multiple choice. If you know anything about firearms, it's literally just a test to see if you are alive.

Most of it's common sense, with a few quirky Cali law questions thrown in.

        The study guide is here:

and you should be able to pass, no problem, after a quick read.

Read the study guide a couple of times and you'll ace the test. Be sure to read the questions thoroughly. It's just more socialist stupidity.

              circumstance.

You got to have 20 years in... be a real retired career military man.

your 4 years gives you a dd214 which as read above dosen't work anymore, anybody that can walk with out drooling too much can pass an HSC test with one eye with a fresh wound - seriously if you have a third grade education and know how to read half of "Curious George" you can pass the HSC, heck you don't even need to be house broken you are allowed to poop your pants while you take the test!

                  he he he....

                  easy stuff.

I beleive the test is 30 questions. As others have posted.. if you fail the test....you probably should not own a gun, drive a car or be walking upright.

I took it about a week ago and the guy sat me down in a cozy corner and said that he would be back in 10 minutes. I tracked him down about 90 seconds later and he looked stunned. He asked if I was sure about my answers on the test. After giving me a perfect score he gave me an odd look.

The only somewhat obscure references are 2 or 3 pertaining to the wacky Kali laws. Spend 2 seconds with the study guide then give 'em your money and take the test.

Just finished my PC 832 firearms training at local community college. Guess I don't need to ever renew the HSC -- doesn't say anything about a time limit.

The HSC test is 30 multiple choice questions. You are allowed to miss 7 and still pass. In the year that I have been giving the test, I've only seen one person that did not pass it. He missed some of the ambiguous questions where they give a partial answer as one of the choices and the full correct answer as another choice.

If you read the study guide, you should be able to pass it easily.

Yeah, I blew through mine too. Took me longer just to verify that I didn't get misaligned on the answer sheet (gotta remember that lesson from grade school!).

I recall seeing a guy at a Turner's who failed his test. But watching him try to talk to the Turner's guy it was clear he could barely speak English! I presume he couldn't read either, so maybe he was randomly answering the questions.
