    Bought a Ruger GP100 today!

I'm now on the 10-day wait to pick up the new Ruger GP100 in SS with 4" bbl I paid for today.

Once it gets out of gun jail, it'll be off to the Livermore Range!

    Congrats!

One of the best revolvers in production! Built like a tank and can 38+P+ & 357 mag all day long. Have fun!

I would agree with that, I was able to handle one the other day at a local shop. Very nice in stainless.

Don't be afraid of +P 357 rounds either. You can shoot em all day long and then use the frame to hammer some 10 penny nails

I have had mine for about a month. It is a great gun. I just installed a Hi-Viz front sight. It took about 15 seconds and I am very happy with it.

Congrats! I have had it's grandfather, the Security Six, for 26 years.

Likely the last gun I will ever sell.

            You're gonna love it!

              Congratulations!

I have the exact same piece, 4 inch SS (KGP-141) with the Hogue monogrip bought in February of 2009. I also bought the older style grip from Brownells and I've gone back and forth switching the two grips.

Its a superb gun, feels robust in the hand and its a keeper for me. I am thinking of getting one more, perhaps the blued model and one polymer framed gun in the future.

              Enjoy your new piece!

I'll probably want to do something about the stock front sight as well. It might be enough just to put a paint dot on it myself.

                  Thanks.

I'll have to see if I want to upgrade the grips after some practice with .357 mag loads.

An excellent gun you decided on. It will outlast you and the person you will hand it down to, and maybe even the next person after that. Range report and pictures please.

Here's mine after a thorough cleaning. It has more than 15K+ through it mostly 38 spl, but some 357 mag loads too. I've lost count since it is still tight and accurate like the first day I've shot it. The only difference is the action being smooth. It has an action job.

Here it is put together and after 300+ rounds and a wipe down, since the thorough cleaning.

Well done! That's a fine revolver. Reloading .357 is cheap, easy, and fun. Good luck!

Grats! I've had mine for about 3 years now. I love it, one of my favorites.

Right on, I just got a new 686, pretty similar to your gun. It will be my first revolver, hope your 10 days don't feel as long as mine.

Congrats! I have a similar GP100 and love it. The GP100 is built like a tank, and will last a lifetime and beyond.

                            Regards,

Good buy! I have a 6" blued GP100 thats built like a tank. The trigger isn't as pretty as some other revolvers but its reliable and accurate.
