Kind of late to post pics of my first 1911. Didn't get the chance to take pics, been busy shooting it and just got it back from the local gunsmith. Installed Wilson Combat drop in grip safety, new grips and trigger job.
As mentioned before went with the blued version to support America and here she is...

Is that milled Carbon Fiber or inserts over a composite grip? Either way, nice detail....and carry a big stick." - Theodore RooseveltComment

Personally I prefer blued myself. The wear after firing those guns gives it it's own story and character! If you really take care of it, you can also pass it on to your progeny
Ducman, I know exactly where you found those pictures. I have all of them, as well as more of the same guns in my 1911 picture folder

Get rid of that nickle plated sissy pistol and get your self a GLOCK... WHat movie was that from?
I know Nickle isn't Stainless...
Seriously, Blue Steel.... Stainless is sure durable but on a 1911 it's not as appealing in look.... If the CBOB came in Blue vs Stainless I'd of purchased one.. I just can't get myself to buy a stainless 1911.... Yuck...Join Date: Oct 2008

From a tactical standpoint, blue is preferable to stainless steel. Especially highly polished stainless.

I think a deep, polished blue is the best looking finish for a gun. That said, stainless is certainly more practical, and can also be pretty in it's own right. But for me, a deep blued handgun with just the right amount of holster wear is about as good as it gets. That Baer Custom in this thread just oozes beauty and class. It reminds me of say, a battle sword that, instead of residing in a dusty museum (like a safe queen gun) has been carried and used in battle enough times to acquire that patina that simply cannot be manufactured, but which has also been kept in perfect, ready to use condition - not a worn out piece by any means."Two dead?!? HOW?!?"

I prefer blued steel. I believe it's better than stainless and I like the character it developes as the bluing wears off the edges. Stainless still stains and it's not true stainless but a corrosion resistant tool steel.
I have a new stainless gun but wish I bought blued or parkerized.Comment
