Hey, just an FYI, http://www.keepshooting.com/ has Makarov magazines for like $17 for one $16 for two or more, just ordered two myself

I don't think so, they are pretty perticular, I am sure someone more knowledgable can chime in

I bought a Bulgarian mak when they were cheap and then fitted a russian slide for the adjustable sights , its simple it just works all the time

I have a Makarov that I got from my wife's grandfather. Its a fun little pistol to shoot. Ammo is not really hard to find. Very accurate and simple. Edges are a little sharp.

Mak's are fun and like everyone has said ammo isn't that hard to find.

TT as in Tokarev? If so I'd prefer the Tokarev because I like the kick and its easier to load another mag when the one you shot has been emptied.
