      G19

The .40 is a fine round, but is over-rated.

19 & 23 are dimensionally the same, but go shoot the 23 before you buy one. IMHO, the 23 is far snappier than the slightly larger 22 (YMMV).

I vote you get the 19 or 26, this way you can use your G17 mags during a SHTF situation.

I agree. I've shot both (22 and 23) and the 23 feels snappier. A buddy of mine, who's a long time .45ACP shooter, does not like shooting the compact 23 and subcompact 27 due to that snappiness. He says the only .40SW Glocks he'll shoot are the G22 and G35, but not the smaller ones.

          +1
or you can buy a 23 and get conversion barrel for 9mm, possibly a 9mm Glock Trigger Housing and G19 mags. However, I feel that conversion barrels and kits are not totally 100% reliable.

Since you already have a 9mm i definitely recommend the 23. I love mine!

You can't make a bad choice if those are your options, 9mm is cheaper, but the .40 is slightly more powerful. Both are same size. The .40 being able to turn into a 9mm is kind of cool, so maybe thats the best choice.

Get a G23 and a 9mm conversion barrel + magazine from Lone Wolf. You will be able to shoot BOTH .40S&W and 9mm from it. Best of both worlds.

That's what I just did... I'll let you know how it works in 7 days.

I got the 23 for a compact gun for me in .40 and ordered the Storm Lake conversion barrel so the Mrs. can shoot 9mm at the range. I have large hands and don't mind the compact 23; it doesn't feel like my Sig, but honestly what does...

.40 ammo is also easier to find, well, I guess 9mm is coming back around, but .40 is still a bit more readily available.

9 mill was hard, but not so much now at all.

I'm having this debate myself lol. I'm gonna have to find a shooting buddy that has both that I can try out.
