    WOW GLOCK GEN 4

    i was just looking at my g19 and thinking how it would be the perfect gun if the grip was a little smaller. i went to research the m&p9 and look what I found!

        Yeah, I already have mine on order. Hopefully the G19's come out soon. For now I'll take a G17.

          I wonder if they could put "Gen 4" anywhere else on the gun. That is something new, and I don't like it.

            There have already been lots of threads on this. Don't get your hopes up unless you're an LEO -- the Gen 4 Glock most likely isn't gonna make the roster.

            They put Gen4 on the slide to avoid confusion because it is not interchangeable with the Gen3 slides.

              Who knows?
              Glock's gotten away with three generations of handwaving for the prior versions being considered Rostered.

                  Problem is mechanically they did not change that much since they went on the Roster. Gen4s seem to have different dimensions and ercoil spring, so who knows.

                    I wish they would have incorporated the fish gils into the slide serations, my g17 RTF2 is great with them.

                      The Gen4 Glock frame is also marked "MBS" on the right side of the frame.
                      MBS = Multiple Back Straps

                      The Gen4 Glocks also have a different magazine release system.

                      The reason why the ambi-mag release SF Glocks did not get on the approved list was because the ambi-mag release system changed too many internal parts to be listed via the exemption [PC 12131.5] that Glock uses to get their pistols listed.

                      IMO...

                        Was just wondering why the 9mm will be any different then the 40's. I have seen these at Turners months ago, the 17 and 22 in 40. Why would these make the list and not the 19?

                            You're confusing the RTF2 Glocks with the Gen4 Glocks. RTF2 is what came out early last year with the fancy texturing and slide serrations. Gen4 JUST came out a few weeks ago, and not only does it have different texturing on the frame, it also has add-on backstraps and a revised recoil spring assembly.

                              I wonder if they will be as reliable? I'm going to be picking up a glock 23 or 19 but if there is any chance of these coming out I might just wait...
