The easiest way to get a MAC in california is to just buy the kit and put it togeather for yourself. you can get it directly from cobray. they have 80 percent receivers that go togeather easy.

Not sure,never had a problem like that.If mine was doing that I would take it apart right away and keep it that way till it was fixed.You may want to call cobray and ask.Here is their technical support number.

If the PM11 is double/trippling then it probably has improper engagement between the hammer and the sear plate, or you have a worn/sticky firing pin which is portruding too far.

either way its a dangerous condition to have both physically and legally.

I'd drop the 40 bucks on a replacement hammer and searplate and toss the malfunctioning ones, or I would stone the engagement surfaces flat to get rid of the worn edge which is alowing the hammer to slip off.

I've never had that issue occur. I would replace the small parts, hammer, sear plate, firing pin and start trouble shooting from there. Most parts are relatively easy to obtain.

I see them once or twice a year at the SJ area gun shows - Cow Palace and SJ Fairgrounds. Always a consignment/PPT, of course.

How much do they sell for PPT? By the time I'm done building mine It's going to have cost me close to seven hunderd (possibly a bit more).

Ive seen them as low as $400 PPT to as high as $1500. Average runs around $1000 for a PM11.

Just be sure to order the semi automatic kit, and have the barrel threads turned off before assembling the receiver.

Im not an attorney. I dont give advice. If I was gonna build one, I'd mark it "Model 07 Prototype for drop testing #1" along with my name/address and a serial number. I would also register the serial number.

I personally don't think they are worth the time however, they are great from 0 to about 1000 rds and then IMHO they turn to mush. They are great throw away tunnel sprayers, as they were designed to be. Id much rather build an UZI kit, or an AK based 9mm.

So is building a mac 11 as easy as a ar-15? If not how hard is it? Do i need to rivet? weld? Any special tools needed? Or can i just buy a reciever and a parts kit? Thanks IMO I love the look of the macs but have never shot one.

According to the letter from the DOJ, pistols manufactured for personel use do not have to be drop tested, the drop test requirement is only for pistols that are transfered through a dealers inventory.
