I bought one from a member here actually, great deal and I couldn't pass it up.

Functioned flawlessly. Never once a bobble or a hiccup. It just ran for ~500-550 rounds worth. Loved the slimness, concealed very nicely, easy to carry. Field stripping and cleaning was a breeze.

Hated the lack of tritium sights and I couldn't find an aftermarket solution at the time. Mag release was stiff, magazine disconnector was stupid as well.

I could never get a decent group with it due to the trigger. It was just horrendous. Don't get me wrong, at 20-25 yards I'm hitting my target. But I could never reliably be in the 10 ring like I can with my 1911 and my MKIII.

Sold it for more than I paid for it initially to my buddy, used that money and put it towards a CZSP01 - MUCH happier now with that gun, and my buddy is very pleased with the SR9. He wanted a good SHTF gun, and that's what he got. I wanted a "nice" pistol for once and that's what I got.

I will say that if it wasn't for the barrel peening issue (never came about on my gun FWIW), the trigger was improved, and came with some sort of tritium sights as an option I would really reconsider owning one.

Otherwise if I had to have a polymer 9mm, I'd go with a FN or XD. Maybe even a P99.

I don't own one, but a good friend just bought one and picked it up the other day. Had a chance to put a few rounds through it at the range and I liked it. I was one of the people that was scared away by initial reviews of the gun...and I probably should not have been. The grip has a very narrow feel to it....much different than the CZ P-01 I shoot, but still pretty decent. Very light recoil, I was very surprised how "soft" it shot. It was a much better gun than I expected, pretty decent accuracy (sights still not quite right...but it was the first day shooting it...)...I still love my CZ and am not ready to switch to the SP9....but if I has shot one first, at the pricepoint, I would have probably bought one.

FTR....I didn't mind the trigger at all, it was not "the perfect trigger", but it was not all that bad.....that being said, I also like the trigger pull on my P-01 and some with better feel and more experience seem to have trouble with the CZ stock trigger pull too...so that might just be something that you will never be happy with if you are used to tweaked and perfected trigger pulls on personal guns.

I'd say shoot one, don't get sucked in by the internet haters...try one for yourself. I really hate the way Glocks feel in my hand, the angle of the grip just feel unnatural to me......the SP9, outside of the grip feeling a bit narrow and deep (...just because of what i am used to shooting), it really has a good feel, I like it in my hand 10x more than a Glock...and I am not a Glock "hater", they just truly feel strange in my hand, always have.

If you are considering an SP9, shoot one before you make a decision........"opinions are like as....."....well, you know the rest....nothing like letting the gun answer your questions for you!

I may be mistaken, but isn't the trigger issue resolved with the recall? Or is the feel of the trigger the same even with the updated trigger?

Lack of tritium sights is a bummer though, I have to admit. I can't seem to find a single company that makes them. Can it be done by a gunsmith though?

Actually since I sold mine, XS and meprolight started making them for the SR9.

The updated glock style trigger recall? Had it. Was bland at best.

It appears you are correct about the night sights. Meprolight seems to have just announced it, but I can't seem to locate one for the life of me. Probably hasn't started shipping yet.

As far as the trigger, I'll have to see about it on Friday when I take delivery of mine. I'm optimistic though.

I own a Ruger SR9 and I love it. I mainly shoot a Glock 19 & the SR9 and I am a bit more accurate with the SR9. I have heard many complaints that Ruger makes a cheap gun and the longevity is questionable but I have had no issues with the SR9 with 4,000+ rounds down range. I know 4,000+ rounds is not much but its a nice sample size. Most if not all people who I let shoot my SR9 at the range love it and have bought one of their own.The trigger is really not that bad, I promise. I feel there are way more pro's then con's to consider.

The triggers on the SR9 are a little gritty at first but do smooth out with use or you can polish a couple of key spots on the trigger bar and it smooths out really nice. I polished mine and now I really like it, it,s nice and smooth, it,s still a heavy pull but I like it that way because it,s my nightstand gun and I don,t want it to fire accidentally because of a light trigger. Also Ghost Triggers who makes allot of triggers for Glocks is coming out with a couple of different triggers for the SR9. Redhemi

it's been awhile since I have been on here and since then I got 1. The gun is awesome, I have put about 500 round through it and I have not had any problem. It's accurate and feels good in my hands. My only complaint is the slide release. It does not release the slide, you have to pull it back and release it on your own. Other then that great gun
