I don't own 1 but my brother and I shot the sr9 at the range the other weekend. For what it is,it seems like a nice gun. IMO it was easy to shoot felt comfortable in my hands, pretty accurate, its a very slim gun, and for the price, if I was into the polymer pistols I would buy one

I have one and enjoy shooting it very much, it fits well in my hand and is fairly accurate for me (52 year old eyes with progressive glasses).I,ve had this gun for about a year and I,ve put about a little over 3000 rounds through it and it has eaten everything I,ve fed it, the only problem I have had with it was the mag release button started getting a little hard to push to release the mag so I took it apart, cleaned it, put a little grease on it and have not had a problem with it sense then. My daughter (20) also enjoys shooting this gun its her favorite of all the guns I have and on a bad day she can out shoot me with it I do know that when the SR9c hits the store I will be buying one of those also I think it will round out what I already own because I don,t have a compact anything. If your interested in it find a range with one and give it a try you just might be surprised, Redhemi

I bought two for primary security, home and office. (1911s to the safe.) Small enough to conceal, and very thin which is nice for my wife's small hands. About 1000 rounds collectively shot with no problems. Decent accuracy. Comfortable to handle, very manageable recoil for my wife. A snap to clean. For the price, not a bad choice at all. I would recommend the weapon if you understand the price point trade offs and don't mind polymer frames.

stiffist trigger on a factory gun I have ever pulled, may have been the one I tried though so take it with a grain of salt....

I bought one last week, but unfortunately I can't comment on it because it's still in purgatory. From what I've read and heard, it's tough to beat in price:quality.

                My SR9 history:

I tried one of the first ones at a LE show. I was impressed.

I bought one about a year ago after finally giving up on trying to like the glock idea... Long story, but I liked the reversable grip arch, ambi safety (well placed), low bore axis, decent trigger (dry fire with the mag in and you can tell the difference), thin grip and ambi mag releases.

I have let MANY friends shoot it and most have give up their 9mm glocks to buy an SR9 (several are reloaders and wanted to shoot cheaper lead reloads anyway).

I recently bought another one last month I liked the first one so much.

I WILL be buying a SR9c when they become available.

I'm sure I'll ruffle some feathers.

I've only shot one of the first generation ones. The trigger was awful. I have shot some low end guns over the years, but the trigger on this was really bad. They have single improved it apparently, so I'd be willing to give it another try. I knew a guy shooting one in IDPA. He tried it a few times and got rid of it because of the awful trigger and went and bought a G17.

My advice would be to go with the time tested Glock (you can find a used one easily for the same price as a SR9). Some prefer the ergonomics of the SR9 over a Glock though. I don't much care for it.

I did some research here on calguns and around the Internet and it didn't convince me to buy one. Yeah some people liked it a lot but the general sense was that more people said, " get something else". From all the reviews I read I don't think I'll buy one, a lot of people complained mostly about the trigger and how stiff it was. I was interested in purchasing one but now I think I'm Going to look at the m&p series instead.

Y'know ... it's a "horse for courses" kind of thing. My SR9 is currently my overall favorite handgun. I have some minor quibbles withe some things about it, but overall find it superior to both my XD and the Glocks I've owned.

M&P are fine, fine handguns. I know people who luuuuuv 'em, others not so much.

It doesn't need to be a fan-club, cool-kid kind of thing. To each his own.

Good, comprehensive review of the pistol. Don't have one myself by sided with an FNP40 instead of this. Make sure to watch all the parts if you're interested.

That review above is the reason I got my SR9. He really breaks it down nicely. I didn't need the things the Glock supposedly benefited from, and the price was right. Plus, I'm the kinda guy who buys less common things. Everybody has a Glock. Not so many have the SR9 (yet).

Glock was my first handgun purchase. The gun store commandos used to turn up their nose at it ... "It's not a <insert 1911 or other favorite gun store commando handgun of the time here>", "it's a plastic gun", etc.

Time has proven the wisdom of my purchase, and now it's common for gun store commandos to sneer at the SR9, my new favorite, as "not as good as a Glock". I think time will correct this arrogance as well.

I would like to get one too, because the price is right, the ergonomics is superb, and the aesthetics is one of the best in the polymer world of handguns.

BUT I've been reading about trigger issues and most disturbingly is the " barrel peening " issues. The trigger gritty issues I understand goes away after shooting for a few hundred rounds. The barrel peening is more serious which I'd like to see how Ruger will handle.

With money hard to comeby nowadays, prudence dictates that I wait up a little until all these issues are resolved by the company.
