Problem with Beretta 92fs

I would hedge on a bent barrel or something like that. I have had 2 handguns with bent barrels, one already had the front sight drifted max to the side, that should have been telling.

I'd return it.

This^^^^^^, I was helping out at Davis street one time and this dude had a brand new gun that he swore was shooting left and low. The gun shot just fine, but he was re adjusting his grip after every shot so his groups wern't consistant.
Also try the shooting four corners of the target, 3 shots at each corner. Sometimes it can be your groups drifting.

I'd let a super good shooter try it. I almost bought a front sight post tool for my beretta until Jeremy at On Target shot mine and put all 10 rounds in the black at 25 yards...

I was heeling the gun to the left, and also not pulling the trigger straight back. I shot my glock and taurus fine, just not the 92.

From reading your post, it seems you may have, or had, some reservations about the Mecgar mags.

Mecgar is one of the more reputable companies in the gun biz.

Mecgars imake some of the best and reliable mags. They are the OEM for many firearm manufacturers (i.e. Sig).

Shooting off center hasn't anything to do with the mag, whoever the make. The 'ding' on the muzzle is a concern. But it'll have to be on the crown (rifling) and would cause your group to be large and all over the place. If your gun groups 2" to 4" at 25 yards benched, it's fine. Just put an adjustable rear sight on it if you want it to shoot dead center.

I suggest:
1. Sit down and bench the gun. Try different ammo and see if the groups & POI improve.
2. The ding or bend barrel is easy to fix. Any smith with a crown cutter and a proper size pilot can fix it in a sec.
3. With a range rod you can find out if the barrel is bent. I seriously doubt that's the case.
4. I wouldn't worry about the wear on the barrel. Beretta 92/96 barrels do move a little in the slide and the rub wear may or may not be evenly around the barrel. I've had 4 of them and they are all different.
