    1911 9mm

In looking at the lame handgun safe list, both Springfield and Kimber have slim pickings, and they only have the stainless ones on the roster. Didnt see the Sig in 9mm on there. My question is, does anyone know any other manufacturers that has a 1911 9mm, non-stainless that is CA approved?

I want 9mm so I dont have to go out and start another caliber to hoard! Not liking the EMP either.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Para-ordnance has one, but it's a 3" model CWX79R / Steel, Alloy Pistol 3" 9mm 1/31/2010

Your choices in 9mm are Para, Kimber, Springfield or find an older used Colt (which would probably hold its value better than the rest anyway).

I have a Kimber Target II in 9mm, 1950's era LW Commander 9mm, and a Gold Cup Elite IX.

The Kimber had problems out of the box (extractor tension-easily fixed by me) and a thumb safety that disengaged automatically when I pulled the trigger (Kimber fixed that on their dime). I'd go with a Springfield if you buy a new full-size 9mm and live with the stainless.

There are methods of blackening stainless steel:
Robar, Robar firearm refinishing, Robar custom gunsmithing, Robar custom firearms, Robar rifles, Robar pistols, Robar shotguns
Always remember to pillage before you burn.

love my springfield...I can live with stainless... you can bead blast if for a dull finish or blacken it or brownells shake and bake...

I like the full size better. Purely cosmetic for me.

I saw a used Colt commander lightweight 9mm (aluminum frame) for transfer in Oakley a couple of weeks ago.

                  1911 9mm

Robar refinished my stainless Springer 9mm with the satin Roguard (pic attached). They do wonderful work and I've been a happy customer of theirs for over 5 years.

I was in the same boat but I think my LEO buddy is gonna sell me his kimber aegis II 9mm soon. I always liked the two tone black slide/stainless frame look. I wish we here in cali could buy frames to build off of.

I own 4 Springfield 9mm 1911's, including an EMP, I have nothing but good to say about them. Springfield's service, in my experience, is also excellent should you ever need them. The guns are "Series 70" type (no firing pin block). If you don't like the stainless, the Robar treatments are an excellent finish. I have the NP2 (inside parts) and the Roguard (black finish exterior) on a P-14 of mine. Very durable and nice looking.

So as long as the 1911's been in the state legally (LEO or before the list), it can be PPT'd legally to us peasants?

Who has a nice collection of used 1911's?

All the pics in this thread are purty too.
