    AK pistol would win.

That's pretty much what I thought when I read this thread. I like Glocks a lot, but they aren't revolvers and don't have the same simplicity or ultimate reliability.

I think a revolver is always more reliable. But then you usually pay for that reliability with heavier weight, less concealable, slower reloading and less rounds.

If one was built, say, late Christmas eve or early New Year's day, I vote that one to fail!

            I vote the revolver would last longer. I've had FTF/FTE's on 3 different Glock 17 & 17C's. Never a hiccup on a revolver (S&W .38, .357., & .44mag's - don't know the models).

Lots of variables to consider such as type of ammo, how clean it burns, etc. Not all guns are created equal. Revolver does have less parts to break on paper. Then again Glocks have less parts than my USP but mine's only had 1 FTE vs my friends' glocks having many using the same ammo. Like said, too many variables involved.

            WTB used AK MFER.

First hand experience watching the rental guns break

Glock, trigger return spring will snap, bad ammo will cause a malfunction, trigger pin snaps, sights fall off, pins start walking out, shooter limp wrists.

Revlover maybe the ejector rod unscrews, SA sear wears out causing push off condition. If the timing starts to go on a revolver it still works, just spits some lead or jacket out the side.
Agree on the basis of similar experience.

Revolver vs. Glock? I don't think this is not even fair to compare with. The revolver has a much simpler mechanism than the pistol. Each and one of them have their pros and cons.

If by dirty you mean actual dirt/mud, I'd vote for the Glock. I believe during the Army field trials of the 1911 vs revolvers, the 1911 worked after the "mud test" where the revolver just bound up.

I will always remember the day my friend turned to me in the desert while we were target shooting our pistols and said...

"The sight on my Glock fell off."

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. Only a small 'inside' group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes."

I am guessing the Glock would fail first because of that torture test video where the plastic guide rod melted? It kept shooting, but did melt and I am guess that would be the first part to fail.

Oh and since we are talking revolvers, in my mind, the revolver would be the S&W 38 Special used by the CDCR. To me, that is like the "all around best revolver". I know I will get beat up on that, but just the way I feel.

Both guns will wear out barrels and overheat long before you wore them out mechanically.

not so I have a S&W 629 .44mag after 6 rounds of Magnums I have to retighten the cylinder screw or it jams, revolvers as ultra reliable is a myth cylinders can jam.

I would say revolver. Someone already mentioned in this thread that rod run out can make a revolver stop. Dirt under the extractor or dirty revolver will give you problems before a glock jams up. This is with the S&W model 64 in 38spl. Been working around those guns for about 10 years and that's what I've seen. Can't speak for Rugers or Colts. The 64 is a great gun as with any gun if it's taken care of.

                                A simpleton's (me) approach

Ammo is precious and should not be wasted.

Both guns need to be the same caliber & charge for a correct comparison of actions.

One shot - double powder charge - revolver wins.

If you happen to get a tie....

One shot - triple powder charge - revolver wins.

Kids don't try this at home. Only grownups (perferably terrorists without eye protection) should attempt this comparison.

For non-terrorist Americans: one shot 1/2 powder charge - revolver wins.
