If you had a trillion boxes of ammo and fired them consecutively, say 1 shot per second.. which gun would last longer before no longer being able to fire. Basically which gun can run dirtier for longer. I know this is a hypothetical question but some of you should have the instincts to know.

Which would fail first? Revolver or Glock
Tags: None -
I would say the shooter would fail first...But if its a Taurus or Rossi Revolver it would fail after the first few rounds those things are POS'S -
sh** i meant a good revolver like a SP101 or S&WComment

Id say the glock.
with the revolver, no matter how dirty it gets from firing, you can still manually pull back the hammer.
Id still take a glock anyday over a revolverComment

Hard to say. A revolver has a simpler action but one where the timing can fail. An automatic is more complex (as far as parts) but tend to work on simpler principles. Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

I would say the Glock would go longer. The chamber is oversized and there is enough room for crud to build up without stopping things. If you ran a revolver with clean burning powder, its still going to need to be cleaned after a couple of thousands rounds otherwise closing the cylinder and even chambering a round will become a problem.www.culinagrips.com

glock goes down first.
First hand experience watching the rental guns break
Glock, trigger return spring will snap, bad ammo will cause a malfunction, trigger pin snaps, sights fall off, pins start walking out, shooter limp wrists.
Revlover maybe the ejector rod unscrews, SA sear wears out causing push off condition. If the timing starts to go on a revolver it still works, just spits some lead or jacket out the side.Comment

hmmm Kurac's got a point. So the longer the test goes the more I'd lean glock. But at the beginning, my money would be on the revolver.sigpicOriginally posted by victor1echoHollywood is satan!!!!Comment

Not true. With the rental guns we rarely clean the revolvers even the .357 that get .38 run through them, but if the semi's (including glocks) do not get cleaned on a regular basis the rate of failure shoots up fast. Basically the revolvers keep working untill something falls off or comes loose.\
If you want to know how reliable something really is no matter the product, go ask someone that rents them out. From guns to cars to computers and cameras this is always true.Comment

Interesting. I've always been more comfortable being lax on the cleaning with semi-autos more than revolvers. I guess out of sight out of mind
