We were living in Hayward at the time. The property was 2+ acres unincorperated area is a crap part of town.
There was a large apartment complex behind the property. People would cut through the property instead of walking 5 blocks to get to the apartments. Well I started to find dope stuff and bottles and anytime someone would cut through i'd tell them to go around. We called the SO and they would come by and make a note of it. Well some of these people aren't very nice and I felt I needed to protect myself.
Everytime the SO deputies came I notified them I was armed and there was never any problem, execpt that one deputy who couldn't get my gun out of the holster.
They took it for 2 weeks and threatend me because I had hi caps. They only took my gun, when I informed the Sergent that hi caps are legal he got upset and told me he'd throw me in jail himself.
I made a phone call to a friend and Mr. uptight Sergent calls me to apologize and that I was correct and maybe he had some reading to do.
I got a call the next day and I went and picked up my gun from the evidence dept and had lunch with my friend.

Blade tech with tek lock is what I have the most of. I think I have a Surpa holster too. Its for a G20 and does have a button you have to push to draw the pistol. I don't use it much but it seems like a good rig to me.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

The fact that the SERPA is modular is the only good thing about it. I have had a few, and was unhappy with them. Any kydex holster will give you plenty of retention if you're just hiking, hunting, etc. If you want more security for gun retention/security then the serpa is fine. Watch the little paddle though, I have seen them jam with debris and also break completely. If you more security look at Safariland.

A little off topic, but does anybody know if the SERPA for a glock 26 will also fit the larger models? (17, 19, 34)

Why would they that is a compact model it doesn't take a genius to figure that out just like how the square block doesn't go in the circle hole...

well, if I have a 26 and am looking into getting one of the larger ones in the future, why not have a holster that can be used for multiple guns. If the frame is similar and it has an open end, is there any wrong with using it with longer barreled, similar framed pistols?

They are specified for models as in you buy a 26 holster for the glock 26 and 27 but the 17/22 line is labeled only for those uses so I would guess not. I don't believe the serpas have a open end either. If they all fit eachother I doubt they would make one specifically for the 17/22 or 19/23...
