      freaking rats will eat anything, they chewed all the labels off all the cans in my pantry when I lived in florida. Waited up all night with a plate of peanut butter on the floor and my old mossberg .22 loaded with shorts. Finally got him at 2 am.

          .22 short? Wouldn't that still go right through the rat?

          I used to always use a pellet gun on rats when I used to live in a house that had them. Those however were wood rats. HUGE FREAKIN RATS. Pellet gun did nicely.
