Really cool and just cool!
HK 45 is an updated design on the existing USP model, better slide design and grip makes for a better handling gun and it looks pretty nice as well. Trouble is the HK 45 is not on the cal roster so you will have to pay above cost from someone selling one (LEO) probably. Someone here recently had on for sale for around 1300 which is about the lowest price your going to find them for in cal.
The original plan for the HK 45 was for the US military to take orders for there latest side arm, it was designed with them in mind, but that some how went south. But rather than scraping it HK produced it as there latest 45 for the civilian market. -
The cheaper alternative - USP 45
As the previous poster mentioned, the HK45 is a new pistol that is not on the CA list, so it can't be bought here through the usual channels. Elsewhere in the US it would cost you about $900, but here it might cost $1300 or so from a LEO using his ability to import such a gun and trying to make a profit on it.
If I were you I'd look at the older USP 45, which is a fine gun costing a lot less. I got mine used for $550 about 8 years ago, and it has worked perfectly for me.

Hk45 on the right with the laser/light combo. USP 45 to the left with white lettering. Basically the same pistol with cosmetic/ergonomic upgrades, HK45 does have a true 1911 rail.
My biggest gripe with the HK45 was the lousy sights on it, they are not true NS like on the USP/P2000, but a superluminova that requires light to activate them and make them glow, the light slowly dims till it's out over the next hour or so.
The HK45 is supposed to have a match component in it's trigger, but the trigger felt no different than the USP. I ended up selling the HK45 and kept my USP.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

Can the night sites be upgraded on the HK45?Comment

I know Heinie makes the Straight 8, and maybe Trijicon or Metro does now also.
Same way I got the HK45 interfamilial transfer. Ended up selling the P30 also.I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

I would imagine so, it is still a popular seller and all they have to do it pay for the Roster renewal. If they renewed the P7M8 that they don't even make anymore, I wouldn't think they would let the USP lapse.I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

I'd say ergonomics. USP has a grip comparable to a 2x4, and magazine release is smaller. HK45 has interchangable back straps, better ergonomics.
For general purpose the difference isn't much. But after trying my P30L's magazine release, my P2000's magazine release ins't cutting it for me.Comment

I was wondering the same thing. I like the USP 45c, but I have a feeling once I hold the HK 45c, I'll regret getting the USP.
Anyone in the Sacramento/Elk Grove area have a HK 45c???
