I have a Taurus 44 mag with 6 inch barrel. it shoots flawlessly. Its a heavy heavy pistol but its very accurate. i also had a beretta 92 when i was in the military. I used to shoot that thing a LOT. and when i say a lot I mean I had over 8000 rounds though it at least. My platoon buddies and I used to go and buy our own ammo when we went past the alotted amount and shoot the crap out of them. the frames used to crack after heavy use. Not sure if that was ever fixed. There was one beretta which we all shot over and over. Liek I said nothing against the gun and I dont expect anyone to shoot as many rounds though it as we did. Im not a gun expert or anything. I have a ruger MKII and it shoots great. I can outshoot my buddies who have a beretta and a XD. But I put that on the shooter not the weapon itself.
My dad had the Taurus copy of the beretta in chrome. i thought it was a little gaudy but it shot very well. he never had a problem with it but then again he never shot it much. I had a S&W 38 with a 4 inch barrel and that thing was very accurate. The ammo seemed a little too weak but I was shooting reloads out of it.

627 and MilPro PT145. Each is excellent and as good if not better than any other gun I own. Taurus has come a long way.

Today, spurred on by this thread, I took the PT58S .380 that I have had laying around for years out for a run. Keeping in mind I hadn't shot this piece for years, it shot well. It doesn't like Federal Hydra-shok, but Speer Gold Dot flows like a river.

Bottom Line: Ball: Zero malfunctions with all three mags. Fed Hydrashok: No/Go. Speer Gold Dot: Good to go. Overall? New house gun for comrade wife. She likes it more than the Sig 228. Go figure,....At least now I get my 228 back! A nice day at the range.

I have a 627 with 4 inch barrel, but I don't shoot it much. It's my only revolver. So, does the 24/7 model work better than their earlier models?
