It'll take a LOT of work for a box stock Springfield Milspec to feel comparable to a semi-custom 1911.

Lets say your price budget is that $1600 for the Nighthawk. We'll allocate $500 (for a good deal) on a used Milspec. That leaves $1100 in modifications for that Milspec or GI. Simply put, that is not enough money to get it anywhere near Nighthawk status.

Checker 30 LPI and undercut $280

Get the Nighthawk. But shoot it first and make sure that it's an accurate, reliable firearm. There might be a reason why the guy is selling it for only $1600. Since it's already used, there is no valid reason why he can't let you try it out.

Thanks again for all the advice, just paid for an 8 month old T3 (same price) and am super excited, the GRP did not work out but I kind of wanted a comander size anyways!
