    CZ75B - DA/SA or SA...

So I think I've settled on the CZ75b as my first handgun. Now, I need opinions on whether a DA/SA model or a SA only model would be better for range use and home defense. At home the gun will be kept locked in a safe - young children in the house and its mandated by the wife. I'm still trying to fully understand the differences - I'm new to handguns. Thanks.

for HD i would only go for DA/SA, because if your gun happens to misfire/light primer strike, you can just pull again and hopefully itll go bang! and not have to worry about racking the slide to reset the hammer.

As somebody who owns several CZ's and carries one I have to agree with this statement 100%.

Thanks for the advice - that's what I thought based on my research but I wanted to be sure.

DA\SA for sure.....I love mine From what I gather the SA only model is more for competition.

what everyone else said, DA/SA, goes bang every time you pull the trigger.

I had a da/sa and I have a sa model now. For home defense the da/sa is the way to go. At the range both will shoot great. Mark

I have been looking for a SA CZ75 for a while now.

Can anybody explain to me the whole idea of 75B in SA only? If one wants SA only gun, why not go for "the source"? I mean 1911 in 9mm?
Is that because cost of 9mm 1911 is much higher?

IMO, DA/SA is the way to go but the 75B is an all steel gun. I recommend getting one of the lighter alloy framed guns such as the PCR model or the P-01.

After owning many many handguns I think one of the best guns to own is the CZ 75D PCR (9mm) and I recommend getting the 22 LR Kadet conversion for it. I have the Kadet kit for my P-01 and it's truely outstanding. It's easily the best 22 pistol under $1K.

Regarding the Kadet kit, anyone know of a good place to get a good deal on it. I seem to find it for around $360 everywhere.

I think I got mine for about $100 less two years ago from Whittaker guns out of Kentucky. I'm not seeing prices on their website right now so you may want to give them a call and see what they have.

As the others said, DA/SA for HD use. The SA is a great gun as well, just not for your intended use. You can get a 75B DA/SA from CZcustom for $497 total (free shipping), so just pay your local dealer fees and you get the gun for far below shelf cost at most shops once you add tax & DROS.

This is an '09 model with the newer recurve silver trigger on it that's more akin the the SP-01/P-01 in shape and feel, not the older less-curved trigger from like an '07 model. I love every CZ I own.

Depends what you like -- it's inexpensive, utterly reliable, eats any ammo you feed it and is more accurate than I'll ever be; I think it's a perfect IDPA ESP gun once you put some minor work into it (sights, etc.). 75B DA for SSP, 75B SA for ESP.
