the Dan Wesson is inherently more accurate than any Python or S&W.

it has to do with the way the cylinder locks into the frame and the tension of the barrel

Python is a nice looking revolver, but I perfer Smith & Wesson for shooting.

Smith's generally have a better trigger than the Colt's, and a professionally tuned Smith trigger is the best double action trigger you'll find.
a couple of years ago, i would have argued the point with you...i'd never felt a tuned S&W, except a PPC gun, compare to a Jungkind or Moran tuned Python...but then i felt a N-frame tuned by Randy Lee of Apex Tactical.

that trigger takes a DA revolver to a whole different level.

I have only shot one Python and it was ridiculously customized. That was when I fell in love with revolvers. It was a long time ago (1993) and the guy was selling it to a friend of mine, and I was a bit of a better shot than him with most guns and he let me fire a few cyl worth of rounds, and I have never, bfore or since, felt anythign better in a trigger than that one. I REALLY wish I knew who did the action job, but knowing the guy that was selling it, he probably did it himself. MAN I have been wanting a python ever since and jsut can't afford it

Well, I have S&Ws and Colts. I enjoy shooting my Python both DA and SA better than any other gun I have. Just my thoughts, since you asked.

Bruce tells me he can do an awesome Python action without bending the sear like Tedford used to do.

i have a well used...sort of abused...Python i'm thinking of sending him. even if he keeps it awhile, it's not like i'm shooting it...the action feels like it's full of wet sand. i'll cry if i open it.

Randy doesn't do a Python tune

Got my Python back from Frank Glenn. Turn around time was fast and he did an excellent job. Frank knows a lot about revolvers. DA feels so much better. He eliminated stacking and tuned the action. Follow up shots are very fast and gone is the Colt stacking feel. You can't really compare S&W and Colt actions, but the only action is like as much is my 625 that Randy Lee tuned.

I also installed Champion Elliason sights.

Shot this group at 18yd, 158gr Berrys plated, DA. This gun makes me look good. Top flyer is all me. Knew it the instant I pulled the trigger.

Oh yeah, anyone have a 4" Python to sell around the Ventura area, please let me know

Special thanks to D.R.E. for answering all my questions.

                  Cheers!
