    I need 1911 help!

I was thinking about purchasing an older model ArmsCorps 1911 from a fellow calgunner, but I was wondering about the external extractor. Is it going to be a problem? Can it be replaced easily or even swapped with an internal if it does become a problem? What other model 1911's should I be looking for on a budget. Thanks guys.

Thanks. Does anyone have info on the extractor issue? Is it possible to swap an external for an internal?

Other models I was thinking of were the Springer Loaded, Charles Daly, Springer GI or even Kimber Custom II

Armscor & RIA are products of the same company (Armscor).

Oh yeah, I know I did a little research on the company. Philippines and all.

Are the front sights on those springer GI's changeable. The old school low pro military ones?

Different set up so they are not interchangeable.

Should be, grind the stem from under the slide and stake another one of your liking. Brownell's sells the tools you need to install a new one: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=9...T_SIGHT_STAKER

You may need to change the rear sight also for height compatibility.

Why buy the GI model if you're going to end up changing the sights, lowering the ejection port, and changing other items. Unless you just want to do it as a project.

Good point. might be fun though right? I just like the straight GI look a lot. But those low sights are a major turn off.
