    .22LR rimfire ammo

Howmuchin demand is .22LR ammo? I have a buddy that wants to sell a bunch to me. He doesn't shoot anymore and I don't shoot .22LR. So I'm just wondering if it's worth the transaction. He's selling it to me at a price to where I'd have to sell it at about $30/500 rounds to make it worthwhile (I'd have to drive to his place and back so there's my gas, time, etc.). I don't want to rip people off but at the same time I won't even bother buying his ammo if I'm just giving it away. So, is it in high enough demand for someone to pay $30 for a 500rd box of Winchester HV High Velocity .22LR?

How much does he have to sell you?

    Compare prices here:

I think it's a good price. It may depend on how you plan to sell it.

They are in relatively high demand but not like it was a couple months ago. plus if you try to sell them in the ammo forum for $30 per brick, you will quickly make yourself known as a gouger to many people here. Rather than reselling them, why dont you just point people who need it and will use it directly to your friend?

this should go in the rimfire forum. there are people who would appreciate this info for sure.

Yeah, like I said in my original post I don't want to rip people off. So I won't even deal with it. I'll point my buddy in the direction of this site. He can decide what he wants to do with it.

What kind of rimfire ammo is it? That is a hugely important question in determining value. If it is Blazer, not such a good deal. Lapua Midas or Eley Tenex; just give me his phone number and save yourself the drive!

If you don't need them, don't buy them.

You'll tag me as a gouger? I haven't sold anything at this price. Pay attention. I only posted a question on the matter. Furthermore, I indicated I don't want to rip anyone off. Ergo, the inquiring post. Consequently, after learning the deal offered to me would only result in a bad deal offered to fellow Calgunner's, I've decided not to move forward. So before you judge and presume on one's character, do your homework. You could have just clicked on my itrader rating to learn I'm not a gouger.

Ok I checked out your link. It's irrelevant as it does not apply to me on this particular post. Again, read my original post. It was a private party transfer from my friend to me. I'm not going to post anyone's info on the internet without prior authorization so that you can contact them directly. If you don't know specifics, don't comment. Furthermore, if you do your research before presuming, you'll learn that I have posted great deals several times for the fellow Calgunner to take advantage of directly. It was just the other day I pointed out where Calgunner's can purchase in-stock .45ACP. Previous to that I posted ammo in several popular calibers including 9mm that was available at my local Walmart. If I was a gouger I'd have bought as many of the available mega packs and 50/rd boxes of 9mm & .223 that I could get my hands on, and turn them around for a profit considering the demand for them. However, I didn't. That's not my style, and you're right- What goes around comes around.

In my area the demand has lessened alot, 3 cases of Federal 375 bulk packs sat on the shelves for 2-3days at my local Walmart. 6months ago, that wouldnt have lasted 3 hours. Same with the Winchester SuperX bricks, they arent jumping off the shelves anymore.

This is one of the strangest threads I have ever read.

Why doesn't the OP look online for what they sell for, instead of getting into arguments with other people online about it? $30 for 500 is about standard price right now for this stuff.

Also, if you don't want to be called a "gouger" then don't explain your plans of buying ammo cheap from your friend so you can jack up the price here on Calguns to make some money off of the ammo shortage, even if your jacked up price is the going rate.

$30 a brick is the going rate for what I consider gougers. That includes websites and gun shops that sell them at that price. They are definitely gouging people there.

I am not saying that the free market economy isn't at work here. Supply and demand has gotten us to where we are. Just like oil companies are gouging us with gas prices, the ammo suppliers and resellers are also gouging us with no real good reason but FUD.
