2024 Colt Python blued carbon steel

The new carbon steel blued Colt Python is probably the coolest announcement of Shot 24!

    Wow! Pretty sweet!

MSRP is $1599, one hundred dollars more than the stainless version.

The surface prep on that thing looks terrible. Bumpy, uneven and awful. Absolutely awful.

    Pass, and curse while passing.

      It is pretty cool.

But in a way it?s kind of sad, that the best things we have going today are reproductions of the best things we had yesteryear. Kind of like a sequel or a re-recording of a popular song.

This is fairly cool but they still kept the barrel length at 4.25 to be able to sell to those mopes in the great white north. Too bad. Eff Canada. I read awhile back that Colt was going to release a 2.5? stainless model with the detective grips. Now if they did that in blue that would be great. Providing it makes the Roster.

I'd like to see it in 3 inch like the stainless model.

I own a number of pre-war Colt commercial guns. I own many more post war guns.

This thing is an absolute abomination. Rock Island has a better polish.

I've been hoping Colt would do this (Thanks CZ )
That's a lot though. I'll start trying to talk myself into this starting .... now.
Might be best to buy one before the extra 10% tax kicks in on July 1.

Thanks for the update. I've been waiting for a blued Colt Python since they reintroduced the stainless a few years ago. Can't wait.

Same here, have several. Worlds apart.

The ripples and wonky surface appearance aside, it doesn't even come close to trying to look like the bluing on the original pre-1980s guns. It just looks like a shined up black paint, which makes sense because that's the type of finish you saw on the early polished CZ97s and other CZ blued guns. Looks more like a coating instead.

I realize that has to do with overbearing EPA regulations however they should have shipped it down to Mexico, Brazil or Portugal for some quality high luster and deep pool bluing if they were going to do it at all.

Well, they did do a 3" model and that's on the Roster.

Possibly pre-production samples sent out for T&E? I have a 4.25 Stainless and its exceptional. I enjoy looking at it & fondling it as as much as shooting it. I believe I shall acquire a blued version when they issue it in 6".

I noticed the bumpy, uneven surface also. Not good. Also noticed that they added an additional vent on the barrel. Looks goofy with three vents cut on the 4.25 inch barrel. Hopefully they wont add an additional one to the 6 inch and the frame prep improves.

Will we even be able to buy in CA?
