It's the brass casings exploding and blowing the frame apart that you should worry about. Its already low on support, add a slight oob detonation and the guns blowing out the side. There's no training that away.
      This right here.

I?ve seen two m18?s and a x carry with a ca m18 FCU go boom in the last month and a half. All three seem to be oob kabooms. One m18 sig said nothing we can do other than destroy the pistol for you. It tossed the ejector, gouged the back of the ejector channel put a nick and bulge on the feed ramp and opened up the FCU a bit. On the x carry the slide locked back to the point of not wanting to go forward without a really good wack and ejected the ejector. The gun had a tight barrel lug afterwards and gave the common not wanting to seat fully. Still functional with a replaced ejector. Third m18 was a total disassembly, to be fair I think the guy was shooting reloads.

I opened up the first m18 and inspected everything personally. Second I was watching the shooter and examined the gun afterwards. Third was watching him shoot but just looked at the corpse of the gun, didn?t put my hands in it.

If folks want photos I can post some.

I?ve tried to replicate the oob with and with out snap caps and dummy rounds. No mag in the gun- see if the siggle wiggle did it, mag in the gun, no rounds. Bottom line with my sample size can?t get it to do it.

I shoot a x5 legion and have three thousand rounds through it during this same time period shooting steel and uspsa. I also have a pro side on top of a m1811 grip module not as many rounds but no issues. I haven?t had any issues running cheap new republic, pmc and s&b.
I enjoy both guns but I don?t have the utmost faith in them. On the same token my x5 runs like a scalded cat, I don?t clean it much just grease the rails and as long as I don?t shoot my dick off I?m going to enjoy the memes.

I'd appreciate the photos. My CA M18 is a carry gun. My other P320s (X-5 and RX-Compact) have never had an out of battery and I have run more than 3k rounds through both. I run them hard and fast both in and out of competitions, but I only shoot factory ammo. The only thing I can think of happening is double-charged reloads or really dirty guns with a stuck firing pin.

            Sig P320 RELIABILITY

To this day , all the P320 pistols that I fired ( mostly full size X PRO series) with 17 and 21 rd magazines and duty ammunition were 100% reliable. I don't have any experience with M18 or M17.

Maybe the oob are reloads with insufficiently resized brass that didn't go all the way into the chamber. Factory ammo is going to avoid that almost completely, which could be why you never had a problem.

Have not had a single issue with my M18, when some friends fired it they had a couple of stove pipes.

The M18, or at least my M18, seems pretty prone to limp-wrist'ing.

I wrote a couple of replies. I need to clarify that I have EXTENSIVE experience with ONLY P320 X FULL SIZE proffesional series pistols. With standard 17 and 21 rd factory magazines and with premium duty ammunition. Results were positive with 100% reliability and good accuracyat 25 yards. . I have no experience with other models or any other ammunition.
